To equip survivors of domestic violence with the appropriate financial tools and resources needed to enable women to leave or recover from the economic portion of domestic violence.

SAFE’s community awareness initiatives increase the awareness of how domestic violence affects women on an economic level that is often overlooked. Abusers utilize power and control to restrict access to financial resources, which ultimately limits options for the abused to leave their abusive situation. A study conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice explains that in cases of economic abuse, victims are often hesitant to leave their abuser or end up returning to the abuser for financial reasons. To combat this epidemic, SAFE assists survivors of domestic violence through specialized training focused on gaining or building the skills needed to reenter the workforce, obtain higher paying positions and manage their finances to break the cycle of economic
